It's the only card left that we haven't been denied! This is ridiculous. How can we build our credit if we can't even get a card?- If they give you the credit card it is yours. Just make sure to make your monthly payments on time and if you are smart. then only use the card for up to 10% of it's limit during a billing cycle, pay off completely when the bill comes and within a year or two you will have good credit. What happens if a student decides to quit school and keep the student credit card he got earlier? NOTHING happens as long as you make your payments on time. The contract is between you, the individual, and the credit card company. They can not dictate that you stay in school. The offer is for students because this "group" is targeted with high interest rates, idiotic fees, etc. because they can not get anything else. Join this club. At least you got the card
- Falsifying information on a document you sign is Against the law. The credit card company will report you to the credit agency that monitor credit history. You will never be able to obtain credit again for a certain number of years. You may be liable for a law suit. I am surprised that you have managed to get away with this deception
- They really could care less as long as you pay them it doesn't matter one bit. make sure they do report your payment history to a credit bureau. Some do not. it is not mandatory they do so. so check if they do. and use the card wisely
- I am not sure how credit card companies check that student credit card applicants are actual students - and if they even bother to. You can build up your credit in different ways without using a credit card: - cell phone account - rent / mortgage - car lease / payments As long as your payments get reported to the credit bureaus, you're building your credit. Go to annualcreditreport.com to see which of your accounts are getting reported
